The Manitowoc/Two Rivers YMCA is teaching kids about doing something kind for someone else every day.
It’s part of the group’s Twelve Days of Kindness campaign, which is led by the Early Childhood Education classrooms.
During the twelve days, jingle bells will be ringing in the lobby, and hand-painted kindness rocks will be displayed in the Y.
While some early childhood kids are creating crafts, others are focusing on helping clean a well-loved caterpillar that hangs in the hallway, wiping its bells, textures, and buttons so it’s ready for the next round of curious hands.
Y staff say the small acts are intentional and give children a chance to notice others, to think about how their actions can make others smile, and experience joy from giving.
