A former police officer in the Fox Valley is set to be sentenced in a child pornography case.
23-year-old Owen Halls, a former officer with the Neenah Police Department, will be present in Outagamie County Court tomorrow (December 19th) for a sentencing hearing.
This sentencing comes after Halls accepted a plea deal, finding him guilty of one felony count of Possession of Child Pornography, despite originally facing numerous such counts.
The 23-year-old was arrested after the Kaukauna Police Department received an Internet Crimes Against Children tip, which alleged that two files containing child sexual abuse material were uploaded online on June 10th, 2024.
This tip led authorities to Halls’ residence, where investigators confirmed that they had seen child sexual abuse materials on his online accounts, including a Telegram account.
Immediately after the Neenah Police Department learned of his involvement, Halls was fired from the police force.
Halls faces a maximum of 25 years in prison.
