After considerable snowfall, snowmobilers in Sheboygan County can now hit the trails.
The Northern Kettle Moraine Snowmobile Association of Sheboygan County (NKMSA) officially opened all trails in the county on Monday morning (December 15th).
While trails are now open, they are still under early-season riding conditions, so all snowmobilers are advised to proceed with caution.
However, with temperatures today (December 17th) and tomorrow expected to get up to the mid-to upper-30s, the NKMSA of Sheboygan County may be forced to close the trails for a few days.
After the brief warm-up, cold temperatures and some snow are expected over the weekend, which should bring the trails back to rideable conditions.
As is the case every snowmobile season, the NKMSA has prioritized safety, stating, “Ride right, ride safe. Respect our landowners and stay on the trail.”
All future updates on trail conditions, closures, and subsequent reopenings can be found online by visiting the NKMSA of Sheboygan County’s website by visiting nkmsnow.com.
