Students in the Sheboygan Area School District and Lakeland University recently collaborated to explore STEAM, or Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math.
Through this student-driven, collaborative effort, the Sheboygan South High School Art Department and SASD’s Instructional Technology Team presented Lakeland with a custom university logo.
The project took shape during the university’s annual STEAMFest this fall, which saw more than 1,500 4th and 5th-grade students from the Sheboygan community contributing to the logo’s base.
From there, the logo was brought to South High School, where students assembled the final 4×8 panels to complete the piece.
This final stage was led by Hailey Fischer, a junior at South, who ensured accuracy throughout the process.
Fischer will begin her higher education in the upcoming semester as she begins classes in the Lakeland nursing program.
The completed custom Lakeland University will soon be installed on campus, and the university will share exactly where it will be placed when that is decided.
