A Green Bay man has been arrested after making alleged threats against a financial institution.
The Green Bay Police Department was called to a residence in the 1300 block of Western Avenue yesterday morning (December 16th) to contact the identified suspect who made the threats.
Police say that the 27-year-old Green Bay suspect called an unnamed financial institution and made threats to shoot up a bank in the Green Bay area.
A large police presence set up a perimeter around the residence, with Green Bay PD’s SWAT and Crisis Negotiation Team being called in to assist.
At 1:00 p.m., approximately three hours after the initial call, the 27-year-old was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Brown County Jail.
Authorities have said that charges related to the incident will be referred to the Brown County District Attorney’s Office; however, what those charges will be remains unclear.
As a result of the large police presence on Western Avenue, two nearby schools were locked down out of precaution.
Anyone with additional information related to these threats to a Green Bay area bank is urged to contact the Green Bay Police Department by calling 920-448-3200.
