
Janet F. Emmert, age 84, of Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at Meadow View Health Center in Sheboygan.
Janet was born on November 10, 1941 in Manitowoc to the late Hans and Ruth (Braunel) Gulseth. She graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1960. On September 28, 1963, Janet married Peter O. Emmert at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on January 29, 2011. In addition to being a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker, Janet enjoyed working at Prange Way, and later at First Chrysler. Janet and Pete enjoyed taking many cruises and vacations, as well as spending time at their lake property together with family and friends. She further enjoyed spending time with her friends through her Thursday Ladies Day, Bridge Club and Manitowoc Yacht Club Ladies Auxiliary. Above all, Janet enjoyed being with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include Janet’s four children, Bradley Emmert, Oconomowoc; Todd (Brenda) Emmert, Manitowoc; Christine (Daniel) Schetter, Neenah; and Jodie (Joshua) Mrotek, Cedarburg; 10 grandchildren, Jessica Schetter, Hartford, CT; Alexa Emmert, Milwaukee; Kyra Emmert, Waialua, HI; Brandyn Schetter, Madison; Elizabeth Emmert, Madison; Maximus Emmert, Scottsdale, AZ; Abigail Emmert, Manitowoc; Zackery Emmert, Manitowoc, Evan Mrotek, Cedarburg; and Scarlett Mrotek, Cedarburg; three brothers, Vernon Gulseth, Norman “Butch” Gulseth, and Donny (Anita) Gulseth, all of Manitowoc; sister-in-law, Lisa Emmert, Marathon, FL; also other relatives and friends. Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Hans and Ruth Gulseth; husband, Peter; sister-in-law, Pat Gulseth; and granddaughter, Danielle Marie Emmert.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, December 19, 2025 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Heather Yerion-Keck. A dinner for family and friends will then be held at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center located on the south property of the funeral home. Cremation has taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel.
