The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is accepting nominations for its 2025 Ethical Hunter Award.
The award recognizes a hunter whose actions symbolize Wisconsin’s hunting heritage.
Nominees could be someone who assisted other hunters in finding lost game, lost equipment, or helped a hunter in some other way.
However, anyone can nominate a licensed Wisconsin hunter for the ethical hunter award.
A five-person committee, composed of a former newspaper editor, a retired biology professor, and a former DNR conservation supervisor, among others, will decide who receives the awards after nominations are submitted.
Written nominations must contain the name, address, and telephone number of the witness or witnesses.
They are due by January 31st and can be sent to Lieutenant Renne Thok at her office in Madison.
They can also be emailed to Renee.Thok@wisconsin.gov.
