A Sheboygan organization has announced the date of its next film showing.
The Rebel Reels Film Society will show the 1955 Douglas Sirk classic All That Heaven Allows this Saturday (December 20th) at Paradigm Coffee and Music at 7:00 p.m.
Doors will open at 6:00 p.m. and will include coffee, food, and conversation before the movie is shown.
The film offers a chance to experience the lush Technicolor visuals and emotional depth with an introduction and after-screen discussion with UW-Green Bay Film Professor Zack Kruse.
All That Heaven Allows stars Jane Wyman and Rock Hudson and tells the story of a wealthy widow who falls in love with her younger, free-spirited gardener, much to the disapproval of her children and country club members.
The film society explains that the showing gives people a chance to look past its gorgeous visuals to explore deep-seated themes of loneliness, female repression, and the courage required to pursue happiness.
This is the last film showing of 2025. Other movies projected on the big screen this year included Body and Soul, Shanghai Express, and The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari.
