Dick had a passion for fishing. He and Genny founded Big Family Charters until handing it over to two of his sons. He was a proud member of the North-Eastern Wisconsin Great Lakes Sports Fishing Club (NEWGLSF) for many years. Under his chartering guidance, Big Family Charters won numerous tournaments. One of his proudest moments was winning the Bob Uecker Fishing Tournament in Kenosha with his sons Steve and Randy, and friend Steve Grimm. Along with fishing, he had a desire for carpentry. He worked at Industrial Millwork for 32 years. He had helped with various house builds throughout the community which led him to building his own homes. He took unique ideas from each house and incorporated them into each of the houses he built. At the end of a long day, you would find him enjoying a whiskey old fashioned and playing cribbage. Even when it wasn’t the time, he’d always said “It is 3 O’clock somewhere.”
A memorial service to celebrate Dick’s life will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2025 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Community Church, 8100 Brunner Rd., Newton, WI with Rev.
