A Kiel elementary school has been heavy in the holiday spirit as of late.
Back on November 26th, students at Zielanis Elementary School held a Thanksgiving Day Parade in the hallways.
With the help of Art Teacher Miss Schuller, volunteers Brandon and Ryan Schmitt, the kindergarten classes, third grade classes and Miss Driessens second grade class, colored their own balloon ‘parts’ and Miss Schuller and her team put the balloons together using recycled materials
This activity was based on the story Balloons Over Broadway by Melissa Sweet and the true story of the construction of the balloons for the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Then, more recently, 3rd and 4th-grade students donated items to help spread Christmas cheer.
The event was coordinated and run by members of the St. Vincent de Paul Society of Kiel.
