A market in Door County caught fire yesterday afternoon.
The Egg Harbor Fire Department was dispatched to the Main Street Market, located on Highway 42 in the Village of Egg Harbor, at 1:30 p.m. after receiving reports of the roof being on fire.
Door County Sheriff’s deputies were the first on the scene and reported seeing smoke and flames coming from the roof near the loading dock.
A small area of heat tape had caught fire, so it was quickly removed.
Fire crews checked the rest of the roof and the inside of the structure to make sure there was no other damage, and found none.
The Egg Harbor Fire Department praised the employees at Main Street Market for “quickly evacuating the store to ensure no one was injured.”
