A truck driver charged with the deaths of two people in Grand Chute claims the weather was responsible.
FOX11 reports that 64-year-old John Litza pleaded not guilty in Outagamie County court at his arraignment on two counts of Homicide by Negligent Operation of a Vehicle.
The Criminal complaint states that the semi Litza was driving t-boned a minivan at the intersection of West Wisconsin Avenue and North McCarthy Road at around 10:45 a.m. on March 24th.
Two people in the minivan died from their injuries.
Witnesses say Litza ran a red light, but the weather may have been a factor, as a review of the dashcam footage showed it was unclear what color the light was at the time of the crash.
Litza is due back in court on February 5th for a pre-trial conference.
