
The Manitowoc Lutheran girls’ basketball team opens Big East Conference play tonight as they host the Resorters of Elkhart Lake/Glenbeulah in a North Division matchup.
The Lancers have been impressive out of the gate, winning their first three games with a scoring differential of nearly 32 points per game.
Senior Makiah Krause is off to an outstanding start, shooting 55 percent from two-point range, nearly 53 percent from three-point range and an impressive 83-point-three percent from the free throw line.
Senior Marissa Melhorn is averaging a double-double, scoring 13 points and grabbing more than 10 rebounds per game while their aggressive 1-3-1 zone defense has forced numerous turnovers, helping them to take an average of 72 shots per game.
Elkhart Lake/Glenbeulah began the season 3 and 0 but has dropped their last two games ,including a 56 to 39 loss at Valley Christian in Oshkosh Monday night.
The Resorters have balanced scoring led by junior Delaney Maranell, averaging 10.5 points per game.

Other Big East openers have Mishicot travelling to Reedsville, Sheboygan Christian at Ozaukee, Sheboygan Lutheran hosts Random Lake, Cedar Grove/Belgium travels to Kohler and Hilbert hosts St. Mary Catholic.
Elsewhere, Howards Grove is home to the Providence Academy of Green Bay, and Green Bay Preble is at Ashwaubenon.
