Plymouth Dirt Track will be honoring numerous local racing legends next year.
The track has announced its 2026 Wall of Fame class featuring five drivers, four dedicated track workers, and one racing family. Drivers to be honored include John Born, Brian Gilles, Terry Marten, Lanny Schirmer, and Gib Wiser.
Born, of Howards Grove, claimed 20 feature wins and five top-five point finishes in the Sportsman division. Gilles, one of the all-time most decorated drivers in the track’s history, is a seven-time track champion.
Marten, a Sheboygan Falls native and Super Modified driver, claimed the 1989 track championship.
Schirmer’s racing career in Plymouth spanned 18 years in the 50s and 60s and was a pivotal component in the formation of the Eastern Wisconsin Stock Car Association.
Wiser, also a Super Modified racer, was the 1975 track champion and finished his career with six top-five finishes in the points standings.
Those being recognized in the Dedication to Racing category will be Dave Bohrmueller, Dale Baumann, Kim Baumann, and Brian Triphan, while the Sippel family, consisting of father Tom and his sons Randy and Scott, will also be added to the Wall of Fame.
These drivers and track workers will be formally enshrined into the Plymouth Dirt Track Wall of Fame on July 11th at intermission of the night’s races.
