A member of the Plymouth Fire Department is preparing to step down from his post.
Plymouth Fire Chief Ryan Pafford is set to leave his role and will soon become the next Kiel City Administrator.
Before leaving the Fire Department, he has penned a message to the Plymouth community, his fellow firefighters, and those who have played pivotal roles in his success as Fire Chief.
While not a Plymouth resident himself, Chief Pafford said the City quickly became a place he cared about deeply, stating, “The pride, resilience, and sense of community that define this city were evident from the very first day. Serving as your Fire Chief has been a privilege I will always value.”
He also took the time to show his appreciation towards the police officers and other first responders he served with, saying he was proud of everything they were able to accomplish, noting his confidence that the department will continue to thrive in his absence.
Chief Pafford finished his heartfelt message saying, “Although my career is taking me in a new direction, I will always be grateful for the time I spent here and the relationships built along the way…Please continue to support the men and women of PFD. They are exceptional public servants, and this city is in very capable hands.”
Pafford will be replacing Dave Funkhouser in Kiel, who will soon be retiring from his role as City Administrator.
