After Black Friday and Cyber Monday, it is now time to celebrate a day for giving back.
Across the globe, today (December 2nd) is recognized as Giving Tuesday, a day aimed at supporting those in your community following a long weekend of holiday spending.
Locally, in Manitowoc and Sheboygan Counties, countless opportunities are available to donate time, money, or other forms of support as food, utility, and other expenses continue to rise.
In Manitowoc County, food donations can be made to numerous food banks or pantries, including Grow it Forward, Peter’s Pantry, and other Blessing Boxes located across the county.
Food donations can be made in Sheboygan to the Sheboygan County Food Bank, the Sheboygan County Interfaith Organization, and Fresh Meals on Wheels to name a few.
Monetary donations can also be made to both the United Way of Sheboygan and Manitowoc County, victim service organizations such as Safe Harbor of Sheboygan County and InCourage in Manitowoc, or youth initiatives like the Big Brothers Big Sisters – Manitowoc and Sheboygan Counties.
While these are just a few of the nonprofits and organizations in both communities needing some extra help around the community, additional ways to give back on this Giving Tuesday can be found in Manitowoc County by visiting manitowocpubliclibrary.org/resources or uwofsc.org/resources in Sheboygan County.
