The case for the mother of Elijah Vue will be brought up again when the other suspect in the case returns to court.
Attorney Amber Gratz, who represents 32-year-old Katrina Baur, asked for another time extension in Manitowoc County court this morning (December 1st) to look over evidence in the case.
However, District Attorney Jacalyn LaBre said that a motion hearing for 40-year-old Jesse Vang could have to involve Gratz.
Gratz agreed to be at the hearing on January 8th, which is when Vang is scheduled to return to court.
The 32-year-old suspect was arrested in February 2024 on child neglect charges after Elijah was first reported missing.
A criminal complaint alleges that she let the toddler stay with Vang in Two Rivers for “disciplinary reasons.”
Baur now faces charges of chronic neglect of a child, consequence is death, neglecting a child, and two counts of resisting or obstructing an officer after the 3-year-old’s remains were found in the Town of Two Rivers in September last year.
Vang faces charges of physical assault of a child causing death, hiding a corpse, resisting or obstructing an officer, and chronic child neglect.
