Residents in the Manitowoc Public School District have their first chance to hear about the district’s consolidation plan in more detail tonight.
District officials are holding the 1st of two listening sessions about the future facilities consolidation plan, with the first one scheduled for tonight (December 1st) at Manitowoc Lincoln High School at 6:00 p.m.
The second one takes place on Thursday (December 4th) at 2:00 p.m. at the District Office on Lindbergh Drive.
Superintendent Lee Thennes will attend both sessions to present the plan and answer parents’ questions.
The consolidation plan, as recommended by the Facilities Advisory Committee, would close Madison and Jackson Elementary Schools and move K-4 students and Riverview School to Stangel.
5th- and 6th-grade students would also be placed at Wilson Middle School in the future, while middle school students would attend Washington School, among other changes.
