A cell phone provider is helping Two Rivers revitalize Riverside Park.
The city received a $50,000 T-Mobile Hometown Grant to support future plans at the park, which will start in 2026.
The program funds small-town projects that “strengthen community spaces,” with Two Rivers’ proposal standing out.
City Manager Kyle Kordell says they have now secured $474,500 in outside funding toward the $649,000 needed for all improvements at Riverside Park.
Kordell also says it reduces the burden on local taxpayers and reflects strong regional and philanthropic support for investing in Two Rivers’ amenities.
The first phase of revitalizing Riverside Park includes building new restrooms, reconfiguring pathways, a fishing overlook deck, an adaptive kayak launch, and a paddle craft boat launch.
However, previous upgrades that were supposed to come to the skatepark have been cut to save money.
Other enhancements, like lighting, security cameras, and other shoreline restoration, will round out the project as well.
