A recent food drive held in Sheboygan County has been deemed a success ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday.
Throughout the month of November, the Sheboygan County Emergency Communications Center, in collaboration with the County Sheriff’s Office, held a food drive to benefit the Sheboygan County Food Bank as they prepared for a busy week.
The food drive, which was started by a couple of Sheboygan County Dispatchers, officially came to an end on Friday (November 21st) and collected nearly 250 pounds of food in just three weeks’ time.
All food collected has since been delivered to the Food Bank, which says the average family receives approximately 18 pounds of food per visit, meaning countless families within Sheboygan County will not go hungry tomorrow on Thanksgiving (November 27th).
With the success of the food drive this year, the Sheboygan County Emergency Communications Center has set its goal at 400 pounds of food.
In closing, the Dispatchers expressed their appreciation to those who contributed, stating, “Thank you to all that donated, we make a difference by leading through action and example. Wishing everyone a happy and safe holiday.”
