An Appleton woman convicted of killing her boyfriend will spend the rest of her life behind bars.
40-year-old Samantha Krebs appeared inside an Outagamie County courtroom yesterday (November 25th) for sentencing after being found guilty by a jury on a charge of First-Degree Intentional Homicide in September.
At the hearing, Judge Vincent Biskupic ordered Krebs to life in prison, the mandatory sentence for First-Degree Intentional Homicide.
However, the 40-year-old will be eligible for parole after 36 years served behind bars.
This comes after the fatal stabbing, which took the life of Krebs’ boyfriend, Joey Carnot, in July of 2024.
FOX11 reports that she stabbed Carnot in an apartment complex on Park Lane Drive in Appleton before asking friends arriving at the apartment to tell police he stabbed himself before she left the scene.
Throughout her court hearings, and again yesterday, Krebs maintained her innocence in the fatal stabbing.
However, when interviewed by police, Krebs reportedly gave conflicting reports, including that she found out about his death through the newspaper before changing her story to say she watched it happen.
Carnot was 35 years old at the time of his murder.
