A woman from Two Rivers facing drug dealing charges needs a lawyer.
48-year-old Tamara Gergen was present inside a Manitowoc County courtroom yesterday (November 24th) to make her initial appearance as she has been charged with Possession of Cocaine with the Intent to Deliver On or Near a Park, Manufacture/Deliver THC, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
However, at yesterday’s court hearing, Gergen entered without a lawyer and requested legal counsel. While she does not qualify for the Public Defender program, her initial appearance was adjourned to allow her to find someone to represent her.
The 48-year-old was arrested on November 20th by Two Rivers Police after they made contact with her after hours in the Neshotah Beach Parking lot.
A subsequent search of her vehicle, which was prompted after giving officers inconsistent statements, uncovered 184.3 grams of THC and THC gummies, 6.3 grams of individually packaged cocaine, $9,000 in cash, and individual $20 bills consistent with the sale of drugs.
In the time since, it was learned that she also had a warrant out for her arrest in Columbia County after missing a court date in another drug-related case.
Gergen was given a $5,000 cash bail last week, which she has since posted, and will return to court for her adjourned initial appearance on January 12th at 1:30 p.m. in Branch 4.
