A former Alderman in the Winnebago County City of Omro has been convicted in a federal child porn case.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office, Eastern District of Wisconsin, reports that 44-year-old Jason A. Reeves pleaded guilty to a charge of Receipt of Child Pornography.
The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, noting an IP address that had received child pornography.
A search of Reeves’ computer revealed images and videos depicting children in explicit ways, resulting in his arrest.
Reeves will be sentenced by Federal District Court Judge Byron B. Conway on February 20th, where he faces up to 20 years of incarceration.
He could also be fined up to $250,000, and will be required to be registered as a sexual offender for life.
