A children’s healthcare center in Ashwaubenon is bringing forward-thinking to its energy consumption.
The Emplify Health by Bellin Children & Adolescent Center is taking steps toward achieving net-zero energy levels with its state-of-the-art solar panels.
While being constructed, the center had 580 solar panels installed on the roof, which will generate an estimated 284,000 kilowatt hours of electricity per year.
That equates to enough energy to power 11 single-family homes.
Paul Viles, the Vice President of Real Estate at Emplify, noted, “We designed the center to be innovative in care and in how it operates. With the solar panels, we are reducing our energy costs and contributing to a healthier environment for everyone.”
The Emplify Health by Bellin Surgery & Specialty Center, also in Ashwaubenon, is equipped with solar panels, and Emplify Health by Gunderson became the first net-zero energy health system in the U.S. in 2015.
