The former owner and president of Schaus Mechanical has passed away.
James W. Schaus was 86 years old at the time of his passing on Tuesday (November 18th). A Manitowoc native, Jim worked his entire life at the company originally known as WM. Schaus & Son, aside for a three-year stint in the U.S. Army.
He served in every position at the company, which was renamed to Schaus Roofing and Mechanical in 1990, and later to Schaus Mechanical and also founded Allstates Rigging Inc. in 1992.
Jim was also an avid hunter, taking trips with his friends and family all over North America, while also serving on numerous local and state boards and committees.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 24th, at St. Francis of Assisi Parish, located at 1416 Grand Avenue in Manitowoc.
In lieu of flowers, mourners are encouraged to donate to the Historical Construction Equipment Association.
