Emplify Health by Bellin is recognizing a special day dedicated to hospitals that serve rural America.
Today (November 20th) is National Rural Health Day, an annual observance held on the third Thursday in November to spotlight the unique healthcare challenges and remarkable strength of the nearly 61 million people living in rural America.
The Rural Health Information Hub says a quarter of Wisconsin’s almost six million people live in non-metro areas and face barriers, including limited access to healthcare.
Emplify Health explains that it has 11 rural health clinics across its footprint, along with several clinics in outlying areas.
To recognize National Rural Health Day, Emplify Health by Bellin is providing special rural health T-shirts for staff and a community challenge.
Dr. Ivy Vachon asks those in rural areas to establish care with a primary care provider to set and keep regular appointments, along with screenings and other health checks.
