A local scout troop in Sheboygan has helped transform a heavily trafficked park in the City.
Eagle Scout Troop 801 has finished a major project constructing a brand-new staircase at Jaycee Quarry Park’s disc golf course.
The staircase is located at hole seven, traveling down a steep hill, ensuring safe maneuvering through the park for disc golfers, hikers, and dog walkers alike.
This project was a joint effort between the scouts and their leaders, the Sheboygan Department of Public Works, and the Sheboygan Eagles Disc Golf Club.
In the announcement of the staircase’s completion, the Sheboygan DPW recognized Parks Foreman Tim Allee for his role in leading the fundraising efforts that made this project possible for the scouts involved, stating, “Projects like this highlight the strong community partnerships that support the City of Sheboygan’s parks.”
With the installation of the staircase, the work of the scouts and everyone involved will benefit the visitors of Jaycee Quarry Park for years to come.
