A GoFundMe page has been created to help a 14-year-old victim of child abuse.
The teen was rescued from a home in the Town of Onieda in August after police found her severely malnourished, weighing less than 40 pounds.
The page’s creator says the teen has made significant physical and emotional progress, growing three inches, doubling her body weight, and has relearned basic self-care routines.
Funds raised through the GoFundMe will go directly to support the 14-year-old’s continued healing.
They will include modifications to ensure she has a safe and comfortable space, transportation for medical and therapy needs, and everything else to help rebuild her life.
Four suspects are facing numerous charges after police found the girl.
Her father, Walter Goodman, along with Savanna LeFeve and Melissa Goodman, were given $150,000 cash bonds for their alleged failure to care for the girl, while Kayla Stemler was given a $100,000 cash bond.
Melissa Goodman is not the victim’s mother, according to prosecutors.
