Charges are now official for the woman accused of running over an Appleton Police Officer.
21-year-old Katrina Kitzman was in an Outagamie County courtroom yesterday, where she was given a $50,000 cash bond on charges of First-Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, Battery to a Law Enforcement Officer, Attempting to Flee or Elude an Officer, Hit and Run Causing Injury, Obstructing an Officer, Possession of THC, and Operating While Intoxicated, Causing Injury.
Appleton Police had responded to the scene of a verbal altercation at 2:40 last Friday morning, and when they attempted to speak with Kitzman, she allegedly accelerated forward in her vehicle.
Kitzman narrowly missed one police officer, but ran over the legs of a second officer, causing them to be taken via ambulance to a local hospital.
Kitman then led police on a short chase, reaching speeds of roughly 75 MPH before she was arrested.
A THC vape pen was found in her purse, and she was said to have a BAC of nearly .22%.
Kitzman is due back in court on November 24th for her preliminary hearing.
