Time still remains for those looking to better understand the duties Manitowoc Police Department.
Applications are still being received for the 2026 Manitowoc Police Department Citizens’ Academy, with submissions being accepted until January 13th, 2026.
The Citizens’ Academy is designed to allow Manitowoc residents to learn directly from their police officers on their day-to-day duties while being open, honest, and candid with their law enforcement experiences.
Educational topics of the program will include the use of force, traffic stops, OWI investigations, internet sex predators, and much more.
Classroom discussions will also be kept to a minimum in order to maximize the time spent on hands-on learning experiences.
The Department hopes that, in offering the academy each year, graduates walk away with an expanded knowledge of the department while strengthening community support and involvement with the City’s police officers.
Those looking to participate are required to submit an application online or in person at the Police Department.
