A fourth suspect is being charged in the Outagamie County child abuse case.
As we reported yesterday, Walter Goodman, Savanna LeFever, and Kayla Stemler were all arrested in Appleton after Goodman’s 14-year-old daughter was found to be severely malnourished, weighing only 35 pounds.
Those three each face five counts of Chronic Neglect of a Child, Consequence is Great Bodily Harm and Emotional Damage, but now, Goodman’s wife, Melissa Goodman, is also expected to be charged.
FOX11 notes that those charges have not yet been filed, but Goodman, who is not the victim’s mother, was taken into custody. The case first began in August, when Walter called 911 to report the victim was lethargic and almost comatose.
The first officer on the scene believed the girl was between 6 and 8 years old and looked “very close to death.”
Walter is being held on a $150,000 cash bond, as is his step-sister, LeFever, while her partner, Stemler, is being held on a $100,000 cash bond.
