Construction students from Plymouth High School are playing a significant role in the reopening of Nutt Hill Winter Park.
In March, the students began working to renovate the existing warming shelter in place at the ski hill, which is set to reopen this winter after a decade-long closure.
Under the guidance of teacher Beau Biller, the construction students are continuing their work to get the facility prepared for the long-awaited reopening.
So far, they have framed in the open-air portion of the shelter, installed sheathing and windows, and are currently in the process of finishing both the interior and exterior walls.
Biller has more than enjoyed the work he and the students have put in, stating, “There is a lot happening there right now, so it is good for students to be on an actual job site and see all of the different trades and contractors working. In addition to all the great work experience, students get to see the project from start to finish and can be proud of their contribution to a community project that will be around for years to come.”
Those looking to see the work of the Plymouth High construction students on display before the skill hill opens can do so this week.
Nutt Hill Winter Park will be hosting an open house on Saturday (November 15th) beginning at 10:00 a.m., ahead of opening day, which is set for December 16th.
