The man caught with meth during a bond condition stop in Two Rivers is being held on cash bail.
34-year-old Anthony Neuser was given a $2,000 cash bond by Court Commissioner Patricia Koppa on charges of Possession of Methamphetamine and Drug Paraphernalia, as well as eight counts of Felony Bail Jumping.
The state requested the $2,000 cash bail due to Neuser’s tendency to offend again, while the public defender noted that he is indigent, meaning he has no cash to post bail, and that he has never missed a court date.
Koppa noted that she is “extremely familiar” with Neuser and said that, despite his financial situation, “We are at a point where significant cash is appropriate.”
Neuser was pulled over by Two Rivers Police at the intersection of 21st and Jefferson Streets at 4:30 Monday evening as he had been in contact with a woman whom the court had ordered him to avoid.
He agreed to allow the officer to search his vehicle, where a baggie containing just over ¾ of a gram of meth was located.
Once his bail is posted, Neuser was ordered to maintain absolute sobriety.
He is due back in court for his initial appearance in Branch 4 on Monday (November 17th) at 1:30 p.m.
