The Kiel Police Department is reminding residents about an upcoming change in parking restrictions across the city.
Kiel’s winter parking restrictions will go into effect at 2:00 a.m. on Saturday and remain in place until March 15th next year.
During the next four months, parking on city streets or alleyways will be prohibited daily between 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m.
Those who do need to park on the street overnight will be required to call Kiel PD’s non-emergency number to request permission to do so.
In most cases, the police department will grant a caller permission to park on the street for special events or occasions unless ice or snowfall is in the forecast.
Additionally, calls must be made before one parks on the street, and long-term street parking requests will not be allowed so different off-street parking arrangements must be found.
When making a street parking request, callers are asked to be ready to provide the car’s make, model, and license plate number, along with your name, phone number, and the street address where a vehicle will be parked.
Those making requests are asked to call the Kiel Police Department at 920-894-2211 and select option one when prompted.
