Manitowoc Police arrested a driver for his 3rd OWI over the weekend.
An officer was on patrol in the area of South 35th and Schroeder Drive when they noticed a vehicle with an illegal tint and a license plate that didn’t belong to the vehicle.
A traffic stop was conducted in the 800 block of Schroeder Drive.
The officer immediately noticed the smell of alcohol, and the driver admitted to not having a driver’s license or insurance on the vehicle.
A field sobriety test was administered, which the 34-year-old man failed.
He was taken into custody, and an evidentiary blood draw was conducted at a local hospital.
It was also learned that the man had an open case for failing to report to jail, leading to charges of OWI, his 3rd Offense, and one count each of Felony and Misdemeanor Bail Jumping.
