A teacher at Sheboygan North High School is fundraising to establish a new club for his students.
North High graduate and current Physical Education teacher Devin Yurk has started a fundraising campaign to raise the money necessary to create a Water Polo Club at the school.
Yurk has stated that this will not only help establish the club for students to participate in, but it will also help enhance the PE curriculum for the entire high school.
Furthermore, Yurk said, “These tools encourage students to participate in dynamic and enjoyable water-based activities, which not only improve their swimming abilities but also build coordination, cardiovascular fitness, and strategic thinking.”
The Water Polo Club, like all extracurricular clubs, will offer a positive outlet for students, reduce stress, build friendships, and ultimately enhance their high school experience.
Currently, Yurk is just over $800 short of his fundraising goal to turn this dream into a reality for the students at Sheboygan North.

The club officially held its first practice last night (October 30th), and donations made today (October 31st) for Halloween will be doubled on the Donor Choose website.
