The former guardian of Ethan Haschultz could be getting another plea deal.
Court records show that a letter or correspondence was submitted regarding a proposed plea agreement for 55-year-old Timothy Hauschultz.
Timothy was supposed to enter a plea to two charges of child abuse earlier this year, but Judge Jerilyn Dietz did not accept the deal, saying it wasn’t in the best interest of the public.
She has since recused herself from the case due to a conflict of interest, and Calumet County Judge Carey Reed is now overseeing the case.
Timothy is scheduled to return to court on November 10th for a review and motion hearing.
Timothy is still facing charges of felony murder and two counts of intentionally contributing to delinquency in Ethan’s death that happened in 2019 in Manitowoc County.
A criminal complaint alleges that Timothy forced Ethan to carry a heavy log because he didn’t memorize Bible verses.
During that time, Damian Haschultz poked and hit Ethan over 100 times and buried his body in the snow.
Ethan would die from his injuries at a hospital. Damian is serving prison time for Ethan’s death after pleading no contest to 1st-degree reckless homicide.
Whether Timothy faces prison time if he’s convicted would depend on the deal reached between prosecutors and the defense.
