Several search warrants led to multiple arrests during an operation through the Brown County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Todd Delain explains that eleven search warrants in the Village of Bellevue, City of Green Bay, Town of Lawrence, and the City of Neenah were done in coordination with the Lake Winnebago Area MEG.
It’s part of a 14-month investigation of a large-scale drug trafficking organization with ties to Mexican drug cartels.
The organization was responsible for distributing large amounts of cocaine and marijuana throughout Northeastern Wisconsin communities.
During their operation, the Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 15 people and seized two kilograms of cocaine, seven pounds of pot, 21 firearms, two vehicles, and $28,400 in currency.
In addition, 23 additional arrests were made over the course of the cartel investigation and included the seizure of 1.2 kilograms of cocaine, 38 pounds of marijuana, six firearms, and $18,100 in money.
Delain thanked multiple agencies for their help in the investigation, including Green Bay Police, the Ashwaubenon Department of Public Safety, the DEA, De Pere Police, the United States Postal Service, Wisconsin State Patrol, and other agencies.
Everyone arrested will be appearing in Brown County court over the next few days, and no other information is being released at this time.
