Lakeland University is inviting the public to its annual literature festival next week.
Lakeland’s Great Lakes Writers Festival will take place on campus on November 6th and 7th, offering attendees two full days of events.
Festivities will kick off at 10:30 a.m. on the 6th with registration in the lobby of the Lakeland Bradley Theater.
This year’s featured authors are set to be Maggie Su and Albert Abonado. During the two-day festival, Su will lead a reading of her book “Blob,” while Abonado will be reading from his 2024 work, “Field Guide for Accidents”.
The Great Lakes Writers Festival will be hosted by Jodie Mortag, a Lakeland Associate Professor of Writing and a former festival featured author, who said, “Having experienced the Great Lakes Writers Festival as a student, featured writer and now host, I can tell you that there is no other admission-free event that brings writers together in such an intimate setting that leaves you inspired to write more, read more and connect with others.”
As Mortag mentioned, the festival will be free to attend, and anyone interested is encouraged to attend the event’s 34th rendition.
More information on the festival, including a full schedule of events, can be found online by visiting greatlakeswritersfestival.org.
