Two men were arrested for bringing 16 pounds of Methamphetamine into Manitowoc County.
During the Monday afternoon bail hearings, the two men, Gerardo Contreras Ochoa and Matthew Tapia Sanchez, were given $500,000 cash bonds by Court Commissioner Patricia Koppa.
Contreras Ochoa is a resident of Mexico and is on an ICE hold, while Tapia Sanchez resides in California.
District Attorney Jacalyn LaBre noted that Contreras Ochoa was responsible for coordinating the transactions, while Tapia Sanchez would facilitate the deliveries.
The duo conducted three such transactions with undercover law enforcement, the first being for six pounds, and two subsequent deals for five pounds each.
Both men are due for their initial appearances on Monday, November 3rd, in Branch 3 at 1:30 p.m.
