A body was recovered from a boat launch in Oshkosh over the weekend.
WBAY reports that the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office was called to the boat launch just after 11:30 a.m. on Mill Street for a report of some items and what was thought to be clothing floating in Lake Winnebago about 50 feet from the shore and southeast of the mouth of the Fox River.
Sheriff’s deputies explain that they confirmed that the items and clothing were actually on the body of the male victim after they went into the water to look.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Winnebago County Sheriff’s deputies are not announcing the name of the victim until the next of kin is notified.
The incident is still under investigation, and authorities are not releasing any other information at this time.
