The Salvation Army of Manitowoc County has begun its annual Toys for Tots & Angel Tree Drive.
Now through early December, donations of new, unwrapped toys for children in need are being accepted, and community members can “adopt an Angel” from one of several Angel Trees located throughout Manitowoc County.
On the trees are tags which represent a local child, along with their age, gender, and a few of their Christmas wishes.
Donations collected through Toys for Tots will stock The Salvation Army’s Christmas Toy Shop, where registered parents can choose gifts for their children.
Captain Jonathan Tamayo of the local Salvation Army said of the donation drives, “This time of year reminds us of what community really means. Every toy, every tag, and every act of generosity reminds a child that they are loved and not forgotten.”
