
One person is in custody after a domestic violence incident in the City of Fond du Lac.
Police in Fond du Lac were called to the 1000 block of Primrose Lane on Saturday (October 25th) at approximately 7:30 p.m.
Upon arrival to the apartment complex where the incident was taking place, police officers located a 43-year-old woman who had been physically assaulted by her 45-year-old husband.
According to witnesses on the scene, the 45-year-old man fled back into his apartment after the altercation.
They also told authorities they believed they heard a single gunshot from inside the residence.
The victim was then transported to a safe location, and a shelter-in-place order was issued for nearby residents.
With the threat and report of a gunshot, Fond du Lac Police activated their Crisis Negotiations and SWAT teams along with K-9s, drones, and an armored vehicle.
Roughly three hours after receiving the initial call, the cooperating law enforcement teams were able to safely resolve the situation, and the 45-year-old suspect was taken into custody without further incident.
At this time, the investigation into the domestic violence incident remains ongoing, with authorities conducting interviews and gathering forensic evidence.
