
Manitowoc Lutheran, Roncalli, Valders, and Kiel take to the court Saturday, looking to earn regional titles in the WIAA Girls Volleyball Tournament. Two of them face off at Lancer Circle as top-seed Manitowoc Lutheran hosts Kiel. The Lancers defeated Kewaunee in three sets Thursday night, while Kiel eliminated Wrightstown to advance. Match time is scheduled for 4 p.m. Other Division Three regional finals have Valders hosting Brillion, and St. Mary Catholic is home for Amherst.
Meanwhile, Roncalli, fresh off an upset of Lourdes Academy of Oshkosh, travels to Montello for a Division Four regional final. Other D-4 regional finals include Sheboygan Christian hosting Kenosha St. Joe’s; Sheboygan Lutheran entertaining Heritage Christian of New Berlin; and Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah traveling to Oshkosh to battle Valley Christian. Division two matches have Luxemburg-Casco hosting Oconto Falls, and Freedom is in Appleton to battle Fox Valley Lutheran. In Division Five, Green Bay NEW Lutheran hosts Almond Bancroft. In Division One, Green Bay Preble visits Bay Port, Hortonville heads to De Pere, West De Pere hosts Pulaski, Appleton East has a short trip to Kimberly, and Oshkosh West heads to Milwaukee to play Hamilton.
Several local and area boys’ soccer teams play for regional titles today (Saturday). In Division Four, Kiel hosts Gibraltar/Sevastopol, Kohler entertains Dominican of Milwaukee, Sheboygan Christian/Lutheran is home for Christo Rey Jesuit of Milwaukee, Heritage Christian of New Berlin visits Oostburg, Algoma travels to Oshkosh North to play Oshkosh Lourdes/Valley Christian, and Sturgeon Bay hosts a Packerland Conference foe, Peshtigo. Division Three matches have Sheboygan Falls travelling to Green Bay to play Notre Dame, and Fox Valley Lutheran of Appleton hosts Luxemburg-Casco. In Division Two, Pulaski hosts Cedarburg, and Kaukauna is at West De Pere. The Division One matches of area interest include Sheboygan North hosting Germantown, De Pere going to central Wisconsin to play DC Everest, Hortonville hosting Green Bay Preble, and Kimberly hitting the road to play Brookfield East.
Meadow Links in Manitowoc is the site for Division One and Three cross country sectional meets today. Manitowoc Lincoln is the host school for the Division One meet, with the field including Sheboygan North. Manitowoc Lutheran will host the Division Three meet, featuring athletes from Roncalli, Valders, Mishicot, Reedsville, Brillion, Kewaunee, Algoma, and New Holstein. The top two teams, plus the top five individuals from non-qualifying state teams, will compete at the state meet next Saturday in Wisconsin Rapids. The Division One boys race begins at 11 am, followed by the Division Three Boys race at 11:30 a.m. The Division One girls’ race starts at noon, then the Division Three girls’ race concludes the competition at 12:30 p.m. A reminder that traffic around the golf course will be detoured shortly before and after the meet, and motorists are advised to find an alternative route during those times.
