A Safe Haven Baby Box has been used to safely surrender an infant.
The Racine Fire Department confirmed the baby was placed in the secure box at a local fire station last week.
Officials say the child is now in the care of Child Protective Services.
Wisconsin currently has six Safe Haven Baby Box locations across the state.
However, this serves as the first time one of the Safe Haven Baby Boxes has ever been used in the state.
