A Seymour man is going to prison for the possession of Child pornography.
Court records show that 54-year-old John Breden was inside an Outagamie County courtroom on Wednesday (October 22nd) for his sentencing hearing.
Breden was originally charged with 36 felonies, including 12 counts of Possession of Child Pornography, 12 counts of Capturing an Intimate Representation of a Victim Under the Age of 18, and 12 counts of Child Sexual Exploitation.
However, the court and the 54-year-old reached a plea deal earlier this year, which had 35 of his felonies thrown out except for one lone count of Possession of Child Pornography.
While the reasoning behind lessening his charges and prison time for child sex crimes committed was not provided, Breden was ordered to spend 15 years behind bars, followed by 10 years on extended supervision.
He was also ordered to register as a sex offender for life.
Seymour Chief of Police Isaac Schultz has shared that the department was contacted in February of last year in relation to child pornography files located on a cell phone.
An investigation into the complaint quickly identified Breden as the suspect, and the following day, he was arrested by the Seymour Police Department in coordination with the Wisconsin State Patrol.
