Two teen boys were injured, one seriously, after an accident with a tractor.
WFRV reports that the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office got multiple 911 calls that came in just before 6:40 p.m. last night (October 21st) for the accident on County Highway W and Sunset Drive in the Town of Ashford.
Sheriff’s deputies and the Campbellsport Fire Department arrived on scene to find that a southbound farm tractor was pulling a corn chopper when it was hit by a southbound pickup truck.
The 64-year-old tractor driver was uninjured; however, two 16-year-old Eden boys were injured in the pickup.
The driver was hospitalized in West Bend before being taken to another hospital in Milwaukee because of the serious injuries.
The passenger was hospitalized in Fond du Lac with minor injuries.
Law enforcement believes that poor lighting on the farm tractor and corn chopper was a factor in the crash.
The intersection was closed for four hours, and the investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
