Health officials in Wisconsin are urging residents to take action to fight respiratory viruses this fall.
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services is letting the public know that updated influenza and COVID-19 vaccines for the 2025-2026 flu season are now available.
They are also ensuring Wisconsinites that there is no better way to combat these potentially dangerous respiratory viruses than getting a vaccine.
RSV vaccines are also available for those eligible, including most older adults and those who are pregnant, while RSV antibodies are available to protect infants.
This reminder from DHS comes after the 2024-2025 flu season, which was one of the most severe over the past decade, netting nearly 7,000 hospitalizations associated with complications of seasonal flu.
To set up an appointment to get their seasonal shots, Wisconsin residents are recommended to contact their primary care provider, local or tribal health department, pharmacy, or community clinic to do so.
More information on each of these respiratory viruses and tools for setting up an appointment can be found by visiting dhs.wisconsin.gov.
