Emplify Health by Bellin is marking Breast Cancer Awareness Month by celebrating the 10-year anniversary of its mobile mammography unit.
The mobile mammography unit, which provides life-saving screenings in 10 rural communities throughout Northeast Wisconsin, has performed over 50,000 screenings since it hit the streets in May 2015.
Emplify Health CEO Dr. Scott Rathgaber noted that, while 26 years of mobile assistance is amazing, “what’s even more important is reiterating the screening message, letting patients know they don’t have to travel for mammography, and that we are here with them every step of their care journey.”
Breast cancer is the most common cancer affecting women, and early detection through regular mammograms is key to improving outcomes and saving lives.
However, many women face challenges in accessing timely screenings due to geographic, economic, or transportation barriers.
The Mobile Mammography units address these challenges by bringing high-quality, convenient breast cancer screening services directly to neighborhoods, workplaces, and community centers across Wisconsin, Iowa, and Minnesota.
