A 100-thousand dollar grant from the Public Service Commission will help a Northwoods group expand broadband internet access to most of Oneida County. The Oneida County Economic Development Corporation had asked for 218-thousand dollars. That money would pay to install about one dozen new towers and make improvements to existing towers. The P-S-C reportedly received applications for grants worth 22-million dollars when it had seven-and-a-half-million available. If the full Oneida County grant application had been approved, an estimated 92-percent of that county would have been covered.
